GDS Fair Scholarship Application
The purpose of the Greene-Dreher-Sterling Community Fair Associations’ scholarship program is to provide an incentive to future generations to actively participate in community volunteer activities including, but not limited to, our Fair Association. Therefore in order to provide financial assistance to deserving students pursuing higher education, the GDS Fair will be awarding a scholarship yearly (given directly to the chosen applicant/applicants)..
A ”financial need” status will NOT be a requirement of the scholarship since many students are not classified as such; but are worthy of financial assistance for their accomplishments. Recipients must agree to sign an agreement to complete at least one semester of schooling or return the full scholarship award. Applicants must meet the deadline for submission as set forth by the Scholarship Committee (April 15 of current year).
Judges will receive instruction on relevant criteria and scoring methods to be used. An interview will be held with the Judges and applicants at a date to be determined (usually the first week of May). Judges’ decisions will be final. Recipients will be requested to attend their high school's annual award program to accept the scholarship check.
You may pick up your application at your local school guidance office or click here to download the application online. Mail completed applications to Greene Dreher Sterling Community Fair, Attn. Scholarship Committee, P.O. Box 46, Newfoundland, PA 18445.
APPLICATIONS MUST BE POST MARKED NO LATER THAN APRIL 15TH.
